Through my artwork, I try capturing the beauty of the complexity of life, while preserving my childlike views of a world with endless possibilities.

The intricacy and beauty of nature's design are large sources of inspiration for me. I use this inspiration to demonstrate the similarities between the fantastical and tangible parts of life. I associate certain colors, shapes, patterns and textures with my thoughts, dreams and time periods as a whole, to translate raw feelings into visuals that act as a language and help me articulate my thoughts.

Labor intensive work allows me to work on a very intimate level, and it gives me a more satisfying feeling of accomplishment once I finish. I try to give every line in a picture the same sensitivity and concern regardless of it’s status in my composition. Some otherwise dull or commonplace subjects can be embellished with a sympathetic hand and patience.

This process initially started as a curiosity, then developed into a haven. Now it is a ritual, and a form of communication I use internally to preserve the untainted, idealistic visions I had as a child.
